Ruto will receive a warm welcome in Mt. Kenya, says MP Sabina Chege

Ahead of President William Ruto's much-anticipated tour of the vote-rich Mount Kenya region next week, several local leaders have expressed enthusiasm over the visit.
Nominated MP Sabina Chege said they are ready for the visit since the region expects to benefit greatly from the president’s engagements.
"We are eager to see what he has in store for us as a leader. The people of Mount Kenya are awaiting his visit with anticipation," Sabina stated in an interview with Spice FM.
"There will be no disruptions because residents have been given many assurances and are keen to witness the progress firsthand."
Sabina Chege assured the president of a warm and secure welcome, emphasizing that Mount Kenya residents are eager to receive him.
"He is coming to meet his people, to connect with his supporters. The people of Mount Kenya are not children of a lesser god, so he has no reason to worry. This is one of his strongholds," she remarked.
The visit will be President Ruto’s first to the region in several months, following the impeachment of his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.
The president’s allies have already launched grassroots mobilization efforts to ensure a successful tour.
Ruto is set to visit the Mount Kenya region in the first week of April, with high-level consultations among regional leaders currently underway in preparation for his arrival.
Before his visit, President Ruto is scheduled to meet all elected leaders from Mount Kenya at State House to finalize preparations.
His tour will kick off in Laikipia County before proceeding to Meru, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Tharaka Nithi, and Embu.
The visit will conclude on Saturday, April 5, with stops in Nyeri and Kiambu counties.
